The dangers of fleas and lice
The dangers and symptoms of fleas
A female flea can lay about 25 eggs a day and more than 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. It only takes about 3 weeks for flea eggs to develop into adults.
Fleas are the most common external parasites with amazing reproductive capacity. Fleas visible to the naked eye only account for a very small number of the entire flea population, and most of the rest are hidden in the environment such as sofas, carpets, and quilts.
Flea bites can cause severe itching, hair loss during off-season, tapeworm transmission, anemia, cat's claw fever, and other symptoms and diseases.
Dangers and symptoms of lice
Lice secrete saliva containing toxins when feeding, causing itching and discomfort in your pet. Cats and dogs will bite themselves to relieve the itching, leading to hair loss, secondary eczema, papules, blisters, and pustules. In severe cases, this can also cause loss of appetite, restless sleep, weight loss, malnutrition, and chronic blood loss, leading to anemia and reduced resistance to other diseases.
